In Iran’s steel market, certain products are traditionally labeled as “alloy steels,” although, from a metallurgical perspective, many of them do not technically qualify as alloy steels and are more accurately categorized as industrial steels. This applies especially to long products, including CK and ST grades and other engineering steels. Industrial steels may be fully carbon-based and manufactured without a broad range of alloying elements. Their properties can be altered through the composition of elements such as carbon, silicon, and manganese, as well as rolling methods and heat-treatment processes, without this necessarily making them alloy steels.
